Thou shalt also consider in thine heart that, as a man chaseteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt also keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in HIS ways, and to fear Him. (Deuteronomy 8:5-6).

Blessed is the man whom Thou chasteneth, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; Thou that mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. (Psalm 94:12-13).

For which cause we fainth not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. (2 Corinthians 4:16-17).

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievious: nevertheless afterward it yeildeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (Hebrews 12:11).

For whom the LORD loveth, He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Hebrews 12:6-7).

But when we are judged, we are chastened of the LORD, that we should not be condemned with the world.
(1 Corinthians 11:32).
